Independence Day Report 2025

The Independence Day Celebration was organized by Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing under the guidance of the Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust on 15th August 2025. The event commenced at 8.30 a.m. with the Prayer Song and Tamil Thai Vazhthu rendered by the JCON choir, invoking blessings for the success of the occasion. Followed this, Mr. Jegan led the Bible Reading, and Mrs. Hepzi Harareet D, DNS–JMT, offered the prayer, seeking divine grace and peace for the nation.The Welcome Address was delivered by Mrs. Ashiba Dollin L, Assistant Professor, JCON, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, staff, and students.

The Presidential Address was given by  Dr. Devaprasad Jeyasekharan (Trustee, Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust), highlighted the significance of Independence Day and encouraged everyone to uphold unity and service.The Flag Hoisting ceremony was conducted by Major General Mrs. Ignatius D. Flora along with the trustees, followed by the Pledge led by Lt. Col. Mrs. G. Vanammal, Nursing Superintendent, JMT.Dr. Sarayu Priya, Principal, JCON, introduced the Chief Guest, after which the Chief Guest Address was delivered, inspiring the audience with reflections on patriotism, service, and national development.

An Independence Day Speech was presented by Ms. Alin Reshma, DGNM II Year student, who eloquently spoke on the struggles and achievements of our freedom fighters.Students from the Allied Health Sciences Departments (OTAT, DT & CT) presented a patriotic song, added color and enthusiasm to the celebration. Mrs. Jasmin Diyana, Professor, JCON, conducted the Prize Distribution Ceremony, recognizing the efforts and achievements of outstanding students. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. Ramya R, Nursing Tutor, JCON, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty, students, and staff for making the event a grand success.

The celebration instilled a deep sense of patriotism and national pride among everyone present, marking a memorable Independence Day in the Diamond Jubilee year of Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust.
