Radiology is the branch or specialty of Medicine that deals with the study and application of Imaging Technology like x-ray and Radiation to Diagnosing and treating diseases. Radiology Technologists are Health Care Professional who perform diagnostic Imaging Procedures and are responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced. Radiology Technicians operate sophisticated equipment that includes X-ray, Mammography, and Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) and Position Emission Tomography (PET) scan devices.
The course is a 3 years duration plus one year internship. On successful completion of the course a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiography & Imaging Technology is awarded by the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
