PONGAL CELEBRATIONS

Pongal is one of the most popular harvest festivals of south India.

Pongal celebration was organized by Dr.Jeyasekharan College and School of Nursing in our college campus on 13.01.2022. All the boys and girls were dressed in dhotis’ and saris which depicts our culture. Our students celebrated Pongal in the traditional way by cooking pongal in Mud pot.

The events such as musical chair, cane eating, uri adi, tug of war game, pot painting and rangoli competitions were conducted for the students. Students participated enthusiastically in all the activities planned on the day of Pongal. COVID appropriate behavior was adhered during the celebration by the students and staff. Lucky corner game was arranged for all the teaching and non teaching staff of our college, all the faculty involved actively in the game. At the end of the celebration, Pongal and sugarcane was served to everyone.
