World Patient Safety Day 2025
The World Patient Safety Day was observed at the Hospital Auditorium with the theme “Working together to make health care safer.”
The program commenced with a Prayer Song by the JMT College Choir, invoking blessings for the success of the event. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Sarayu Priya, Principal and Head of the Department of Paediatric Nursing, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, faculty, and students. This was followed by Felicitation by the Trustees and Administrators, who appreciated the efforts taken by the nursing department in promoting patient safety awareness.
The Theme of the Day was unfolded by Dr. Thiraviam Mohan, HOD and Senior Consultant of Paediatrics. He emphasized the importance of patient safety practices in paediatric care and the role of teamwork in preventing medical errors.Dr. Gopal Subramaniam, Senior Consultant of Paediatrics, elaborated on the Objectives and Goals of World Patient Safety Day, highlighting the global call to action for ensuring safe patient care and reducing avoidable harm in healthcare settings.
The session on “Working Together to Make Health Care Safer” was presented by Mrs. Anugen, Assistant Nursing Superintendent, and Mrs. Maria Lisha, Patient Safety Officer. They shared valuable insights on implementing safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety among healthcare professionals.
An Experience Sharing Session followed, where Mrs. Sheela (Paediatric Ward Administrator) shared their practical experiences in promoting safety measures within their respective wards. The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. Jeyalakshmi, Vice Principal, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation. The event ended with the National Anthem rendered by the JMT College Choir.
