World Radiography Day 2025

World Radiography Day is celebrated on November 8th.

The Department of Radiology at Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust College of Allied Health Sciences marked World Radiography Day with a special celebration on campus. The event began at 9:00 AM with a cake-cutting ceremony presided over by Dr. Ranjit Jeyasekharan, Head of the Department of Radiology, and honored by Chief Guest Mrs. Lakshmi Bai from CMC Vellore. Faculty members including Ms. Anju Sabu (HOD – IT)Mr. Kingston (In-charge, Radiology Department), and Mr. Rengit Singh (Course Coordinator, RIT), along with interns, staff, and students, were in attendance.

Dr. Ranjit Jeyasekharan and Mrs. Lakshmi Bai delivered thoughtful messages on the growing importance of radiography in today’s healthcare landscape.

At 10:00 AM, the Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme, themed “Clarity in Care: Radiology at the Heart of Diagnosis,” commenced in the Hospital Auditorium. The session began with a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome from Mrs. Sheema and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by dignitaries including Dr. Devaprasath JeyasekharanDr. Sabu Jeyasekharan, and Dr. Ranjit Jeyasekharan.

More than 100 students and technologists participated in the CME, which featured insightful paper presentations after a tea break. The event concluded with a vibrant cultural programme. The Nursing Superintendent and Assistant Nursing Superintendent were also present for the occasion.

Participants were provided with lunch and refreshments. Certificates and mementos were presented to faculty and students who delivered papers, and prizes were awarded for the best presentations.

The CME was affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and accredited with 10 credit points under Category IV.
