Nagercoil, situated in the KanyaKumari district of Tamil Nadu is located close to the tip of the Indian peninsula and it is the southernmost town in the Indian mainland. Sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats, the town has some breathtaking scenery, with the surrounding hills (the Western Ghats), lush green paddy fields, and sandy palm-fringed beaches on the western side.
Nagercoil enjoys a unique blend of Tamil and Kerala cuisine. Rice is the staple food. Fish is very popular and forms a part of everyday meal for many.
There are lots of places of interest like temples, old churches and the palaces. Nagercoil also boasts of having beautiful beaches nearby and since it is surrounded by the Western Ghats, the hills offer a great weekend escape. The students are encouraged to go explore the town and to enjoy what it has to offer.
The nearest airport to Nagercoil is in Trivandrum and is about 75 kms away.
