International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on 8th March, to honor women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements while accelerating the fight for gender equality. International Women’s Day 2026, under the theme, “Rights. Justice.Action.for all Women and Girls”, calls for action to dismantle all barriers to equal justice: discriminatory laws, weak legal protections, and harmful practices and social norms that erode the rights of women and girls..
We the Dr,Jeyasekharan College of Nursing and Dr.Jeyasekharan Medical Trust celebrated the International Women’s day on 09-03-2026 at Dr.JMT Auditorium.
The International Women’s Day program commenced at around 3.30 pm in the Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust Auditorium. The program began with a prayer song by the college choir, followed by the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Mrs. Pearline, Nursing Tutor at CON, conducted the Bible reading, and Dr. Golden Catherine, Professor at CON, led the prayer. Mr. Binni, Professor at CON, welcomed the gathering.
The presidential address was delivered by Dr. Maya from the Department of OBG, Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust. Felicitations were offered by Dr. Renu Devaprasad Jeyasekharan, Medical Administrator, Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust; Mrs. Beena Sabu, Correspondent, Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing; and Mrs. Vanammal, Nursing Superintendent, Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust.
Dr. Sarayu Priya M, Principal of Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing, introduced the Chief Guest, Mrs. Anitha Natarajan, who delivered the Chief Guest address and spoke about International Women’s Day. The Chief Guest was honored with a gift by Dr. Sarayu Priya M.
A tribute to leadership and partnership program was conducted, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony by the dignitaries. Mrs. Shyni Evangeline sang a song, and fun activities were organized for the participants. Mrs. Jeeva, Staff Nurse at Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust, recited a poem. The winners of the competition were awarded prizes and certificates. Tea and cake were distributed to the participants. Pen were distributed to all the women employee of Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust. Mr. Juhin, Nursing Tutor at CON, delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded at 4:45 pm with the National Anthem.
