Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust, College of Allied Health Sciences, Nagercoil, celebrated the Onam festival on 13th September 2024 at 11.00 am on the college campus in the traditional manner.

On the significance of the Onam festival the “Athapookolam” (colorful floral carpets) competition was held, which was arranged on a class basis out of these B.Sc. Dialysis Technology IIIrd  Year students won 1st prize and B. Sc. Cardiac Technology IInd  Year & IIIrd Year won the 2nd prize and B. Sc. Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology IInd  Year students won the 3rd  prize followed by Onam celebration program was arranged at college auditorium at 11.00 am.

 

The programme started with a welcome speech from Ms. BivishGiftika from CT IIIrd Year students. Mr. Vigneshwaran DT IstYear gave a brief speech about Onam. Our correspondent Mrs. Beena Sabu and Ms. Anju Sabu, IT consulter at Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust inaugurated the cultural programmes with Onam’s message and graced the occasion. Followed by Mrs. Jeyalakshmi, Vice Principal delivered the Onam message. Students display their talents at various cultural events. Kerala Traditional Dance, Thiruvathirakalli was performed by Ist Year B.Sc. OTAT, DT, CT students. Maveli welcomes and Onam songs were performed marvelously. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Abinantha from B.Sc. OTAT III rd Years.

In the afternoon session, various competitions such as Musical Chair, and Tug of War were conducted as part of these celebrations, and students of various departments actively participated in all the competitions.
