This programme was conducted in the Jeyasekharan College of Nursing Campus classroom on 15-10-2024 at 9 a.m.
The World Handwashing Day Program was conducted by the 1st year B.Sc Nursing Students. This program was commenced with a slogan which says “ Why is sharing knowledge about hand hygiene is still so important? Because it helps stop the spread of harmful germs in healthcare”. The program was well organized and was hosted by Ms. Princy Mariya. J.
The awareness regarding handwashing with soap and water was presented through a PowerPoint followed by health education video clips of the steps involved in Handwashing, the types of handwashing like medical and surgical asepsis in healthcare by Ms. Princy Mariya. J of 1st year B.Sc Nursing. Ms. Deepika Nair demonstrated a simple handwashing technique using soap and water. R.V. of 1st year B.Sc Nursing with a tray setup. The students have gained adequate knowledge regarding techniques of handwashing with soap and water, types of handwashing ( medical and surgical asepsis) the importance of hand hygiene and have attained the desirable skill and attitude in performing medical asepsis in health care setting
