REPORT ON WORLD HEART DAY -2023

The world heart day was celebrated at Dr.Jeyasekharan Hospital & Nursing Home with the Theme of “USE HEART; KNOW HEART” on Friday,29.09.2023 to create awareness about Cardiovascular disease and its prevention.  The program organized by College of Allied Health Sciences.

The awareness programme stated at 11 am with the introductory speech by Mrs. S.Jeyalakshmi, Vice Principal, College of Nursing & Course Coordinator, College of Allied health Sciences. Followed by the Health Talk on “Prevention of Coronary Artery Diseases” was presented to the OPD patients by the B.Sc. Cardiac Technology 3rdyear students Ms. Wiselin Roshika and Ms. Kaniska Viji.

The program in the auditorium was started with the prayer song by college choir at 12 Noon. Ms. Lalitha, Lecturer, College of Allied Health Sciences welcomed the gathering followed by the dignitaries lighted the kuthuvillakku.

The World Heart day theme was unfolded by Dr. Chandra Kumar Immanuel MD,DM(Cardiology), Interventional Cardiologist. In his speech he emphasized the importance of heart health, it was very informative followed by World Heart day message was given by Dr.Ranjit Jeysekharan, Trustee, Dr.Jeyasekharan Medical Trust. He explained the importance of Heart day celebration, and take home message on that day, it was very use for the audience.

Followed by health presentations, related to heart health were presented. Dr.Sabareesh, MBBS, (DNB, General Medicine) delivered the world heart day message “Use heart Know heart” with statistics and other useful information. Dr.Subbian, MBBS MD (PMR) shared information about the different aspects on Heart Healthy Activities. Various Heart Healthy Diets were discussed by Mr.Johny Bright, MSc Nutrition, Dietician.

In the view of creating awareness about Cardiovascular disease and its prevention among the students the Poster making competition with the theme “Active living for Heart Health” and Best out of Waste competition with the theme “Heart” and Model Making Competition with the theme “ Circulatory System” were conducted on 27.09.2023 by the College of Allied Health Sciences.   Certificates & Cash prizes were distributed to the prize winners and Certificate of participation was distributed to all the students who have actively participated in the competition.

On this special day Dr.Ranjit Jeyasekharan, Trustee Dr Jeyasekharan Medical Trust, Mrs. Beena Sabu, Correspondent, Dr,Jeyasekharan Medical Trust, Dr. Chandra Kumar Immanuel, Interventional Cardiologist; Dr.Nishal Perumal, Consultant Anaesthesiologist, Dr.Sabareesh, MBBS,(DNB ,General Medicine), Dr.Subbian, MBBS MD (PMR),Mrs.Jeyalakshmi, Vice Principal CON & Course Coordinator- CAHS, Mrs.Vannammal, Nursing Superintendent, Doctors, HOD of the Departments, Hospital staff and students of Dr.Jeyasekharan Medical Trust College of Allied Health Sciences & College of Nursing were enthusiastically participated in the world heart day celebration.

The program ended with a Vote of thanks by Mr. Paul Jason, Tutor, College of Allied Health Sciences followed by the National Anthem.
