WEBINAR ON “BREASTFEEDING & BABY-LED WEANING”
In yet another health and wellness initiative, Dr Jeyasekharan Medical Trust has reached out to young mothers and parents through a webinar on “Breastfeeding & Baby – led Weaning” free of registration charges on 26/06/2020. The Obstetrics & Gynaecology department and the Paediatric wing of the Hospital coordinated the event.
Dr.M.Thiraviam Mohan, Paediatrician welcomed the participants and gave introductory remarks about the Paediatric Department and the treatment provided for the new born in our level-III NICU care. Dr.Maya Gopal also gave a speech about the O&G department and its facilities, importance of Breast feeding, followed by the introduction of the speaker.
The program was hosted by Mrs.Lincy Prarthana Rachel, Lactation Specialist from JMT library between 3pm-5pm. There was a large, enthusiastic participation followed by a robust Q&A session. The participants also found the webinar very informative and useful.
Dr. Gopal Subramoniam, Paediatrician followed up with concluding remarks and importance of family & community participation for successful Breast feeding practices in the mother. He thanked the participants of the webinar for their enthusiastic involvement. The Department of Paediatrics will roll out with various parent education programmes in the future, he said. The webinar ended at 5pm.
Dr Jeyasekharan Medical Trust also plans to roll out more such webinars from various departments to reach out to the public at large given the current scenario.
