Annual Sports Day Report 2025

Dr. Jeyasekharan School and College of Nursing conducted its annual sports Day on 08.02. 2025 at the Anna sports stadium. The event was headed by the respectful trustee, Dr. Samuel Sabu Jeyasekharan, and the Correspondent Mrs. Beena Sabu.

The event was officially commenced with a special Opening Prayer. The proceedings of the day with the arrival of the Chief Guest Dr. S. Arumugam Pillai, the senate member and the guest of honour.

The Special Guests were Dr. Dixon Jeyaseelan, state vice president of The Tamil Nadu Senior Athletics Association, and Mrs. K. Vinu, The District sports & Youth Welfare Officer joined the sports day& made it special.

Chief Guest  Dr. S. Arumugam Pillai, lighted the Olympic Torch and handed it to the Athletics Captain, Ms. Sushma B.Sc(N) III yr(which symbolizes the spirit of sportsmanship), and thereafter passed it to the captains of other teams, then took the Athletics Oath on behalf of every student. Few sports events were conducted on the day.

The Special Guest Er. Dixon Jeyaseelan, state vice president of The Tamil Nadu Senior Athletics Association addressed the gathering. He shared some of his special memories with everyone and motivated the students for further success. Thereafter, as a token of appreciation and gratitude, the Chief guest and the special guest were presented with a memento by the Principal.

TOURNAMENTS DURING THE YEAR ( 2025 FEB)

Volleyball, Throw ball, cricket, Kabaddi, Shuttle Badminton, 1500 mts, 800mts, 400mts,  200 mts,100 mts,Shotput, Discuss, Javelin, Long jump, 4×400 mts relay, Kho – Kho, Tennikoit,  Chess, Caroms

THE OVERALL RESULTS OF THE MEET WAS AS FOLLOWS:

Overall Champions

  • Winner (1st Prize): Anselina of the Rolling Trophy Blue House (SUSHRUTA)
  • 2nd Prize: Roselet of the Rolling Trophy Green House (OSLER)
  • 3rd Prize: John Manuel of the Rolling Trophy Red House (RONTGEN)

Individual Champion

Male Champion:                  Mr. Anto Jebin (SUSHRUTA)

Female Champion:              Ms. Sushma (OSLER)

The entire program went off very smoothly with the combined effort and guidance of the Principal, Correspondent, Coordinators, and the entire sports department. It was well appreciated by the Guests and the management of Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust. The purpose of the meeting was to promote sportsmanship, perseverance, discipline, and teamwork among the students and to encourage more students to get involved in sports and make it a significant part of their lives.

The sports meet was ‘Closed’ with the National Anthem.
