INDEPENDENCE DAY REPORT 2023

On 15 August 2023 (Tuesday), our 77th Independence Day program was held at our hospital car parking area at 8:30 am on the theme Nation First, Always First. The program was conducted by Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing. The trustees, administrators, course-directors, doctors, incharges, DNB registrars, principal, vice-principal, teaching, non-teaching faculties, students and many well-wishers were invited and took part in the program. The ground was neatly arranged with the Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust family.

The program started with a prayer song, Tamil thaivazhthu by the college choir followed by Bible reading & prayer. Mr. Joel Prince of II Year B.Sc (N) welcomed the gathering. National flag hoisted by the winners of the zonal level SNAICON and the winners of the cricket team competitions followed by the national anthem and national pledge were taken by the gathering. A patriotic speech was given by Ms.Arthi V O of III Year B.Sc(N) and a special song by MS. Apsara A G of IV Year B.Sc(N).

Prizes were distributed to the students and staff who won the competitions held on 09.08.2023 & 10.08.2023: Solo song, Rebuttal & Acknowledgement Speech (English), Essay writing (English) and Poster making competitions for students and Solo song, Rebuttal & Acknowledgement Speech (Tamil) and Rangoli for staff. Prize winners were encouraged with cash prizes and certificates.

Mr. Sachin Raj of II Year B.Sc(N) extended the word of gratitude and the program wound up by 9:15am by wishing all a happy Independence Day.
I thank God Almighty for His blessings and all the organisers, incharges who worked hard for the success of this Independence Day program.
