ONAM CELEBRATION
Dr.Jeyasekharan Medical Trust College of Allied Health Sciences, Nagercoil has celebrated Onam festival on 28thMonday of August 2023at 10 am in the College Campus in traditional manner. The programme was organized by III Year B.Sc. OTAT Students with a help of faculties.
On significance of Onam festival the “Athapookolam”(colourful floral carpets) competition was held, which was arranged on year basis. Out of these, B.Sc. Operation theatre &Anesthesia Technology Third year students won First prize, and BSc. Dialysis Technology III year students won the Second prize and B.Sc. Operation Theatre & Anesthesia Technology First year students won Third prize. Various competitions like Musical chair & Tug of War were conducted as part of the celebration, students of various departments actively participated in all the competitions. There was a photo session with all the faculties and students of Allied Health &Sciences and the Onam flex was revealed.
Followed by Onam celebration program was arranged at college auditorium at 2 pm. The program started with welcome speech by Ms.Neethumol.G.S from the B.Sc. OTAT II Year student. Our course coordinator Mrs.Jeyalakshmi inaugurated the cultural programme with her Onam message and graced the occasion. B.Sc. Dialysis Technology Ist Year student Ms.Hasna Mohamed Sathik gave a brief speech on “History of Onam”& explained the significance of Onam. Students displayed their talents with various cultural events. Kerala traditional dance, “Thiruvathirakalli” was performed by B.Sc. CT II Year. Maveli welcome, and drama were performed marvellously. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Ms.Nithya. S from B.Sc. DT III Year.
